The Quarrymen were a classic rock band from the 1950s that soon evolved to be The Beatles. The Quarrymen were The Beatles before they were The Silver Beetles and then became The Beatles. There were several permutations of The Quarrymen, the original line-up featuring John Lennon on guitar. The band also featured John’s school friend, Rod Davies, on banjo.
