Shake, Rattle and Roll is a song by Charles Calhoun (a.k.a. Jesse Stone) popularized in 1954 initially by blues singer Big Joe Turner and then later that same year by Bill Haley and His Comets, whose version became the first rock and roll recording to become an international hit. Later versions were recorded by Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly. A version by The Beatles (in the medley:Rip It Up/Shake, Rattle and Roll/Blue Suede Shoes), recorded during the Let it Be sessions in 1969, is found on Anthology 3.
