The Beatles- Ringo’s Christmas Plea For The Blind 1969

Ringo’s Christmas Plea For The Blind was a charity appeal held by Ringo Starr for the British Wireless For The Blind Fund in 1969 which raised a measly £175.

It was recorded for the BBC’s festive charity appeals at the Apple Corps headquarters in Savile Row, London. It was later used in the Christmas Day edition of Radio 1 presenter Kenny Everett’s radio show; the programme lasted from 10am to midday, and Starr’s contribution was heard at 10.15am.

The track has barely seen the light of day, and for a long time was unavailable but for some obscure bootlegs. It went unmentioned in a majority of collections and finally found it’s way online, but the file was taken down. It appears on archive.org and YouTube.
