Revolver is the seventh album by The Beatles; it was released on August 5, 1966 in the United Kingdom and on August 8, 1966 in the United States.This album marks the start of the Beatles psychedelic period, with many experimental songs and ideas. This also is the 1st album to have most songs not about romance. Many of the tracks on the album are marked by an electric guitar-rock sound, in contrast with the folk-rock album Rubber Soul. It reached #1 in the UK charts for 7 weeks and #1 on the U.S. charts for 6 weeks.
In 2003, the album was ranked number 3 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.[1]
