The Fender Bass VI was a six-stringed bass guitar that was John and George's predominant bass used from 1968 to 1970 on songs where Paul plays either piano or guitar. It is featured on songs like Back in the USSR, Dig It, The Long and Winding Road, Rocky Raccoon and Honey Pie to name a few. It was usually used to double a bass part (e.g. Rocky Raccoon, Gently Weeps, etc), to use as chords in a song (e.g. U.S.S.R., Dig It) or to give the song a heavy and chunky bass part (e.g. Long and Winding).
