Clarabella is a song written by Frank Pingatore originally recorded in 1956 by The Jodimars, a group made up primarily of former members of Bill Haley and His Comets. The Beatles played it on the Pop Go The Beatles radio show which was first broadcast on 16 July 1963. This song is available on Live at the BBC album. Billy Preston also performed a version on TV in 1965, apparently patterned after the Beatles' arrangement which was at a faster tempo than that of the original. The Cordes, another Liverpool-originating group, also recorded a version in the early 1960s.
