A Hard Day's Night is the third studio album by English rock band The Beatles. It was first released on 26 June 1964 in the United States by United Artists Records and on 10 July 1964 in the United Kingdom by Parlophone. In contrast to the band's first two albums, all thirteen tracks on the album were written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, showcasing the development of their songwriting talents. The first side of the album contains songs from the soundtrack to the band's film of the same name; it also includes the title track and the previously released "Can't Buy Me Love", both of which became number-one singles in both the UK and the US.
In 2000, Q placed A Hard Day's Night at number 5 on its list of the "100 Greatest British Albums Ever", and in 2003, Rolling Stone placed the album at number 388 on its list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time".
